I am pursuing a degree in Translation in my country (Argentina) and have gained experience in different fields and using different CAT tools. It was my role as a medical Interpreter what encouraged me to continue on the path of translating and facilitating communication. Being an interpreter has given me a great sense of fulfillment and pride in helping those in need, and thanks to it I have been able to sharpen my linguistic skills and other important aspects of my personality and professional profile, such as empathy, active listening, and eagerness to give my best in every opportunity I get. However, being an interpreter is a challenge. It forces you to think on your feet and make decisions that at times are not 100% accurate. Much as I love interpretation, I am looking forward to being able to enjoy the duties of a translator, taking my time to read and re-read, get in-depth knowledge of a field, and mostly having fun with the challenges translation may bring, for example, sorting out what structures and idiomatic expressions may be more appropriate in my native language, so that the reading is seamless for the readers.
