Resume:
I’m interested in volunteering as a Translation for Progress Translator as I begin my career transition into the field of translation. I am a trained OB-GYN medical doctor shifting toward a new professional path more aligned with my desired lifestyle.
I’m passionate about making knowledge accessible, especially in areas such as health education, sexual and reproductive health literacy. I also have a strong commitment to social issues, including inequality and the vulnerabilities related to gender, health, and social context. I believe translation is a powerful tool to amplify voices, break down barriers, and promote understanding across cultures.
I am a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker. I have started English lessons at age 5 and that fueled an interest in languages. Later - at age 16 - I've studied English in London for 4 months.
I feel confident working with both Brazilian Portuguese and English, and I’m particularly interested in contributing through transcription in Portuguese as well as translation in both directions: English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English.
