Resume:
I am volunteering to translate from German or Spanish to English and as a retired doctor, I am happy to help with medical texts. My aim is to help disadvantaged people. I have experience translating for Translators without Borders and Care International since June 2019.
I am currently studying MSc Social Science Research Methods as a funded doctoral student.
I completed MA Translation Spanish and German at Cardiff University, South Wales, UK.
I am a retired Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon (qualified in London 1972) and have worked in South Africa for 2 years and the rest of the time in the UK, as a Consultant from 1985 to 2020, qualified FRCS, MB BS.
I am retired from the Ministry of Justice for Medical Appeal Tribunals (2011 - 2024)
I have been a volunteer interpreter / translator at my hospital, have edited podcasts for Spandoc, a Spanish magazine, teaching Spanish doctors medical English, and I have translated a chapter of a German book about the innervation of the oesophagus.
I have experience doing editorial work for Orthopaedic Journals: The Knee and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery(British)
